Mini Biography :
Shekhar Kapur (born 6 December 1945) is an Indian film director and producer.
His basic schooling was done at the Modern School, New Delhi, India. His works include Elizabeth (1998),a fictionalized account of the early reign of Queen Elizabeth I; it was nominated for 8 Oscars. In 2000, he was awarded the Padma Shri.

The nephew of actors Vijay Anand and Dev Anand, Kapur was discouraged to get into show business by his father.[1]

At 22, Kapur became a chartered accountant,studied accountancy to please his parents. He moved to Great Britain, and spent several years working as an accountant and management consultant.

He was married to singer and actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy and they divorced in February 2007.
